Open Data Armenia is an NGO established in 2022 and dedicated to promoting and developing open data culture and community in Armenia. Job Summary

The Community and Partnerships Coordinator will take on a crucial role in advancing open data initiatives through various community-focused activities. This position involves organizing and leading regular events, such as workshops and conferences, designed to promote and educate about open data. 

A key aspect of the role is building and nurturing partnerships with important stakeholders. While the primary focus will be on establishing connections with media organizations, the coordinator will also engage with other relevant partners across different sectors. 

The ultimate goal of these efforts is to support and further the NGO’s mission and objectives. By fostering community engagement, raising awareness about open data, and cultivating strategic relationships, the coordinator will play a vital part in the organization’s overall strategy and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Engagement:
    • Engage with the data and journalist community in Armenia to understand their needs and promote their active use and generation of open data about Armenia and Armenians around the globe.
    • Support the development and dissemination of resources and tools to advance open data practices.
  • Partnership Development:
    • Develop and manage partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with the NGO’s goals.
    • Maintain and grow existing partnerships to foster ongoing collaboration and support.
    • Represent Open Data Armenia at external meetings, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and promote open data initiatives.
    • Identify and establish informational and financial partnerships with media agencies, government agencies, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector.
  • Event Management:
    • Plan, organize, and execute regular offline, online, or hybrid events, workshops, andconferences that promote open data culture.
    • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, scheduling, and registration.
    • Oversee event promotion through various channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for open data, transparency, journalism, and community development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills. Proven experience in organizing educational and/or networking events and developing partnerships.
  • Fluency in Armenian and good command of English. Knowledge of the Russian language is highly desirable.
  • Current involvement in one or more areas such as university teaching, journalism or IT is an advantage.
